FAQ - Commonly Asked Questions
The Diversity Visa Lottery, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is a program that makes 55,000 immigrant visas available annually to individuals from countries with low immigration rates to the United States.
Eligibility for the Diversity Visa Lottery is based on country of birth. Additionally, applicants must meet certain education or work experience requirements. Specific countries may be ineligible if they have sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the past five years.
The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program provides a pathway to U.S. permanent residency for foreign nationals who invest a minimum of $1.8 million in a new commercial enterprise, or $900,000 in a targeted employment area, creating at least 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers
The EB-5 visa process can take several years. It involves an initial application (Form I-526), followed by conditional permanent residency, and later the removal of conditions (Form I-829) after meeting job creation and investment requirements.
The E-2 Treaty Investor Visa allows citizens of treaty countries to enter the U.S. to invest in and manage a business. The investment must be substantial, and the business must be a bona fide enterprise.
Applicants must be nationals of a treaty country, make a substantial investment in a U.S. business, and be seeking entry to develop and direct the enterprise. The investment must be at risk and generate more than just enough income to support the investor and their family.
